This 2 days lake mburo holiday vacation takes you through Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest of Uganda’s Savannah National Game Parks, also known for being the only Park with Impalas in the country. It is conveniently located on the Kampala – Masaka, Mbarara highway making it easily accessible. The journey is not hectic, within four hours you will have reached the Park. On your way, cross the equator and see how amazing gravity and magnetic forces act in the different hemispheres.

Depart Kampala at 7:00am, after your breakfast from the hotel. Our tour guide will pick you up for the 2,days safari to Lake Mburo. We then embark on our journey west of Kampala through – Mpigi – Masaka – Lyantonde and finally to Lake Mburo National Park. We shall make a stopover at Mpigi to check out the equator and the magic that comes with it and also get to know more about it.
Continue and head for Nshaara gate, the shy zebras, warthogs and bushbucks will welcome you. You will be in time for the boat ride that will take you about 1 – 2 hours depending on your choice. Here you will enjoy the stories told about the lake, have a chance to see lots of hippos, crocodiles and different bird species including the migrants like the African fin foot, not to forget the salt lick too. Lunch will be served after the fascinating adventure, after which you can go for a swim and relax or go for a game walk and bird watching with a tour guide. Dinner at your accommodation.
We shall have a quick coffee/tea before we head out for the early morning game drive to watch the early animals move to the water where they spend their day these include some of the 500 hippos in the park, topi, water bucks, bush buck, warthogs, zebra, kob, eland and a variety of early birds that include the weaver birds, African fin foot that is a rare species, African fish eagle that moves in pairs, African Jacana. We shall see the salt lick again on land during the drive. We shall then get back to the lodge to relax, have lunch before we embark on our journey to Kampala.
